Welcome to Holistic Balance with Raewyn Morrison
Holistic Balance offers a variety of therapies I have trained and worked in over the past 27 years; Massage, Ortho-bionomy, Feldenkrais and Craniosacral Therapy. These can be practised individually or in combination depending on your needs and requirements.
Using my experience and range of techniques, I specialise in helping clients release tension and regain flexibility, coordination and movement. My approach is gentle, and can be subtle, easing restrictions to help physically, mentally and emotionally. I have first-hand experience of these therapies and have benefited from each one. I enjoy passing on these benefits to others.
People come to see me for a variety of reasons; ranging from recent and or long term injuries & accidents, aches and pains, spasm, stiffness, trauma, tension, stress, headaches, migraines, RSI, sciatica, neuromuscular problems, restricted movement, poor circulation, arthritis, tiredness, poor health, ME, MS, brain damage, neuroplasticity and relaxation. Clients also come to improve skills and focus e.g. musicians, dancers, teachers, abseilers.
By working with the whole body including: muscles, nervous system, skeleton fascia and energetic systems I guide the body into positions of ease, this allows my clients to let go and find relief from pain, and experience comfort. The ways I work have been designed to develop mind and body in harmony, bringing awareness and balance, as well as enhancing health and vitality.
Feldenkrais:- stimulates the brain and teaches us to include more of ourselves in our movements, neuroplasticity. This helps reduce strain, improve posture, flexibility and mobility.
Craniosacral therapy:- works with our fluid system (cerebral spinal fluid), releasing restrictions and enhancing vitality.
Ortho-bionomy:- helps with structural problems and alignment, by releasing muscular holding patterns and acnes and pains.
Holistic Massage:- helps us relax; reduce stress, release tension and unwind.
An important aspect of all my work is being a good listener. By this I mean observing and sensing through touch, feeling the tension, being present for my client and helping them let go of old holding patterns. Clients coming to see me have often tried several other therapies without finding satisfactory relief. When I connect to a person they often respond by releasing and letting go.
I initially came to body work through my own experience of physical pain, and found a learning journey that has enriched my life.
